Turn TalkBack on or off
We know that TalkBack screen reader speaks text and image content on your screen. On your Android device, you can turn this setting on or off easily. There are three tips for answer of the question how to turn off talkback on android?
As it is an Accessibility setting you must have turned it on because it is off by default go back into your phone settings and open Accessibility. Tap on TalkBack and you will see how to turn it off.

2. Select More Settings
3. Click Accessibility
4. Click TalkBack
Firstly With the volume key shortcut
However, You need to use the shortcut the first time you turn on and set up your device or after your device is set up.
- On the side of your device, find both volume keys.
- Press and hold both volume keys for 3 seconds.
- To confirm that you want to turn #TalkBack on or off, press both volume keys for 3 seconds again.
Secondly With Google Assistant
By Saying “Hey Google.” with Google Assistant
Then Say “Turn off TalkBack” or “Turn on TalkBack.”

TalkBack can help blind and low-vision users by describing what you touch, select, and activate. You can go to Settings>More settings>Accessibility>#TalkBack to turn on the switch.
If you have turned #TalkBack on by accident, you can follow these steps to turn off it:
- Tap Settings, then double-tap it, use two fingers to slide upward;
- Find More settings, tap it, then double-tap it, use two fingers to slide upward until you find Accessibility;
- Tap it, then double-tap it. After that, tap #TalkBack, then double-tap it;
- Tap the switch, then double-tap to turn it off.
